Woman Adopts A Puppy And Goes Back For Her Neglected And Malnourished Sister

A woman finds a puppy looking to be re-homed on one of the Facebook pages for adopting pets. However, the whole story turns out to be bittersweet as she comes back for the dog’s sister.

Instead of being happy to reunite Lovey, the Great Dane Poodle puppy, with her sister, Wrenatha was horrified. The other pup she adopted was in terrible condition, clearly malnourished.

Could the story of two puppy sisters have a happy ending after all? Did Wrenatha come too late?

Wrenatha was browsing through Facebook when she stumbled upon an Ohio group that re-homes pets for various reasons. A puppy she later named Lovey was looking for a home, and she was only nine weeks old at the time.

The woman who was re-homing Lovey said that she and her sister were too much to handle for her, and she needed to rehome one of them. Wrenatha gladly took Lovey in as she already had dogs at home and was an experienced dog owner.

There were no bumps in the road and Lovey came home with Wrenatha. The pup seemed healthy, and she acted happy and playful… just being a normal puppy.

Still, she needed a companion. Two of Wrenatha’s senior dogs weren’t interested in playing with Lovey, so she had no choice but to contact the lady and ask if she could adopt another puppy.

When she reached out, Wrenatha was told that the woman had only the pup’s sister, and she would gladly give her up for adoption, too, to keep the girls together.

All was set for adopting the other pup and Wrenatha met the women in a parking lot. Things started to smell funny as the woman was hiding Noodle tightly in her arms. She handed the puppy over to Wrenatha and immediately drove away.

What Wrenatha saw broke her into pieces. Poor Noodle was in horrific condition. She was terribly emaciated, but the woman told her she only skipped a couple of meals because she was a really picky eater.

By the looks of Noodle, it wasn’t just a couple of meals. It was more than that. The pup could barely stand on her legs! Wrenatha immediately took her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with worms, even though her previous owner said she had been dewormed.

To make things even worse, Noodle had infected paws from standing too much in her own filth. Also, she couldn’t walk straight because her legs were bent after spending too much time in a crate. It was a clear sign of neglect.

Was Wrenatha too late to save this puppy and give her a loving home?

Good news comes from Wrenatha’s home in Ohio!

After only three days with her family, Noodle started feeling much better. Her legs started straightening up, she was putting on weight little by little, and she was being such a cheerful puppy.

The two sisters were really blessed to be found by Wrenatha. This animal lover has a house full of pets who are always showered with love and care. You can tell by the looks of the animals how loved they are.

After a couple of months of having Noodle and Lovey, Wrenatha shared an update on the sisters. Their lives took such a wonderful turn and they enjoy it now to the fullest. Noodle gained 15 pounds, which is amazing for a dog who was so emaciated.

On her TikTok account, Wrenatha shares fun videos of the pups regularly so you can follow her to stay in touch with Noodle’s progress.

“She is a definite cuddle bug. She likes to come up to you or anybody that’s around her and introduce herself or get pet and loved on. You can just tell that she feels relaxed and tell that she feels happy and just she can feel we love her,” said Wrenatha for We Love Animals.

It puzzles me how Noodle’s first owner knew she was in bad shape and still did nothing to help her. She even tried to cover up her terrible situation. I hate to think what could’ve happened to this poor girl if she hadn’t been adopted with her sister.

Noodle and Lovey will furever have a home with Wrenatha and her little animal kingdom. She’s the real example of how one should handle dogs in need: give them a home, love them unconditionally, and do everything to make them feel well.
